To be honest with you, I think the pheasants sold the house to us. What I meant is, when we were looking at houses, our criteria was that it has to have
- at least 3 bedrooms
- a good size garden
- a good size kitchen
- off the road carpark
- in a good condition
- an inglenook fireplace (this is Ian’s requirement)
- good WIFI coverage
The house had most things we wanted, but it didn’t have everything we wanted.
But, when we were viewing the house, we saw 2 pheasants in the garden, just minding their own business. We immediately fell in love with the house and thought that is just brilliant! So we disregarded the fact it doesn’t fulfill all our want, and made an offer anyway. We chose to buy the house because of the pheasants (and the inglenook).
Now a few months in living in this house we enjoy watching pheasants strolling into our garden, sitting on the roof of our house and our shed, scaring the other birds by doing their funny side wing flap.
They are really funny and beautiful creatures, the male pheasants looks like a gentleman with a white collar, the shading of their feathers are amazingly intricate and full of character.
Have you got pheasants in your back garden? Do you have birds coming in your garden?
